With the improvements we made to the components used in the 4-series, we redoubled our efforts to make a product worthy of the Reference Series moniker. We coupled the circuitry to our best internal cabling, covered the daughterboard in an interference-excluding shield, and included the high-wattage linear power supply plus custom DC cable combination. What came to fruition was the most natural, live, feel-good sound coming from either AES-EBU or coaxial SPDIF (RCA or BNC) we’d ever heard. The difference over the 3-series is not subtle. The difference above the Revolution 4-Series is quantitative. Good recordings become even more alive and live-sounding. The bass is palpable, as if the instruments are there with you. Details you’ve missed in familiar pieces walk up to you confidently and introduce themselves!

Every unit is custom-made. Joe Makkerh will talk with you to determine the exact specs that will be most suitable for your needs. For example, if your DAC has a better USB input, we can add JCAT or SOtM options for the best USB outputs in the industry. If your music collection resides as digital files, rather than streaming, we can put in up to 24TB of storage in solid state format – we may be able to squeeze in more if you need! We recommend Roon for selection and playback, but other options are available, subject to how you wish to control and organize your music. You can just plug in an ethernet cable, power on the system and you can enjoy music within minutes. We take you through the process of setting up the audio outputs for your DAC and customizing the control of the Baetis via a live call. Questions you have about functionality, or doing certain tasks such as transferring an existing music collection onto the Baetis can be answered with custom-made videos taking you through the steps to achieve your goals.

All our systems are upgradable to add greater functionality or more powerful processing. We can add or replace components in the existing chassis. If the upgrade is more radical, you can trade in your old unit with credit towards a new build, re-using those components that are common to both systems. That way, we ensure the transfer of your music and settings, where applicable, will be seamless.

We offer a choice of operating interfaces depending on your needs, and preferred method of controlling the system. The Reference 4 series is available in silver or black and in two case offerings (mid- and full-size).
